Valentine’s Day might be just around the corner for the month of February, though the entire month is known as the American Heart Month. With heart disease being a leading cause of death for men and women, companies across the country are bringing fitness to their workspaces. As such, many companies host several events during the American Heart Month, to not only educate their staff on healthy lifestyles but heart disease and how to prevent the risk of heart attacks.
At Sapient Government Services Arlington, Masters Don and Andrae with students Tajma and Janet ran an office fitness and self-defense event for the company’s Cultural Club. The event brought a high turnout of SGS employees who were pushed to physical their limits, while also learning valuable lessons on healthy living. The employees were taught basic self-defense as well as viewed jujutsu techniques performed by the instructors.
In the end, participants showed enduring commitment to healthy living and walked away with information about how to continue striving to healthy heart living.
